spock and kirk It's Church Jim, but not as we know it ...

At Grace we see the local church as a family not an organisation. Our emphasis is on building relationships, growing in faith hope and love, and reaching into the community with the power and presence of Jesus.

We don't have a building. In fact there are quite a few things most people traditionally associate with 'church' that you won't find when you visit us.

We don't have 'services' though we do spend a lot of time together as family and friends, and we do come together to worship, pray and share from the Bible.

church life We don't have a 'public' meeting every Sunday. Rather, we get together on a number of different occasions during the week; often round the dinner table in homes, sometimes in cafes, pubs, workplaces, parks etc.

We don't have a set liturgy or order of service. Our aim is to allow God's Spirit to lead us and work through us.

We don't have professional clergy. The Bible says that every believer is a 'minister.' However, we do have experienced leaders who oversee, facilitate, empower and release the church to follow Jesus and to reach out into the community.

church from the home

Sometimes this style of church is called simple or organic church, or sometimes house church. We prefer to think of ourselves as a growing family of 'churches from the home,' based in, but not limited to homes

There are five aspects of our life together that we see as important. Click on the links to the right to find out more about each one.
